An Effective Weight Loss Pill Xenical For Serious Dieters
Monday, April 19th, 2010Xenical, the most commonly prescribed obesity treatment medication, does not work as an appetite suppressant and neither does it have a direct effect on your brain. Orlistat, the active ingredient in Xenical, works in your digestive tract where it blocks out about one third of the fat in your meal from being digested.
How effective are Xenical slimming pills?
In clinical studies, people treated with a combination of Xenical orlistat and a reduced-calorie diet containing no more than 30% calories from fat, achieved significantly greater weight loss than people who were treated with diet alone.
The studies were so designed that all participants consumed a reduced-calorie diet for 4 weeks. This was then followed by a reduced-calorie diet and orlistat or a low-calorie diet alone for participants for the next 52 weeks. After completion of the 52 weeks, those taking a combination of Xenical orlistat and low-calorie diet lost twice as much weight as those who were on diet alone (approximately 13.4lbs versus 5.8lbs). Moreover, 69.1% of the patients lost about 13lbs after 3 months and 19lbs after one year.
Scientifically proven Xenical orlistat improves health risks
There is obvious scientific evidence that if you are overweight, losing as little as 5% to 10% of your body weight can result in improved health. Studies revealed that almost two thirds of the people treated with Xenical orlistat and diet successfully lost at least 5% of their body weight after 2 years. In contrast, only half of the people treated with diet alone managed to lose 5% of their body weight. It has also been proven that weight loss with Xenical and a healthy diet also improves a number of weight-related health risks which include:
- Decreased total and LDL cholesterol
- Improved ratio of bad to good cholesterol
- Reduced blood pressure
- Reduced levels of insulin
- Reduced risk of or delayed progression of type 2 diabetes
